Job Description:

We are looking for a System Engineer with strong experience in Windows and Linux system administration to join the IT team of a leading retail company. The professional will play a key role in building, maintaining, and automating infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and scalability of critical services.

Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain traditional infrastructure (Windows & Linux Servers) and related security tools.

Build, design, and manage infrastructure services and applications running on OS layers.

Work closely with architects, project managers, and technical leads to deliver solutions.

Use scripting (bash, shell, PowerShell, etc.) to automate processes.

Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix, document, and implement preventive measures.

Work with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).

Support Microsoft services (AD, DNS, SCCM, SCOM, Orchestrator).

Participate in on-call rotations (focus on automation to reduce workload).

Requirements:

• Experience on building and maintaining traditional infrastructure (Linux & Windows Servers) and related security tools and services.

• Hands-on experience in building, designing and maintaining infrastructure services and applications on top of the OS

• Work closely with technical leads, project managers and architects to deliver infrastructure, services and applications.

• Extensive experience in operating scripting languages such as shell scripting, bash, powershell, etc. 

• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.

• Hands-on experience in using configuration management and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc.

• Experience in Microsoft Services and Tools like AD, DNS, SCCM, SCOM and Orchestrator is a plus. 

• Participate in on-call rotations (but there shouldn’t be a lot of work since you will work to automate everything!)

• Effective leadership and cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
